Carnegie Art Cornerstones Announces Our 2021 Board Challenge Grant!
The Carnegie Art Cornerstones has been pinpointing ways to advance the career growth of artists and expand appreciation for arts and culture in Oxnard and Southern California. For this work to continue we need your support!
To this end, the Board has created a Challenge Grant. We so believe in the importance of this work that for every dollar you donate, the Board will match that up to $2,250!
This will enable us to support artists in education and exhibition, and provide opportunities for community engagement with the arts through exhibits and events.
During this past 20 months of COVID-imposed hiatus our board has been busy reshaping our mission. We have been focused on boosting the development of young artists in our area through our endowment gifts in 2020 to Oxnard College, Ventura College and California State University Channel Islands for art scholarships and campus exhibits. Another of our college support projects is the renovation of the McNish Gallery at Oxnard College which is anticipated to reopen in Spring 2022. Just this November, Cornerstones became a sponsor of California Lutheran University’s fabulous exhibit The Otherworld, featuring a host of outstanding artists in the fantasy realm who will inspire the imagination and skill acquisition of student artists.
