Rules and Requirements:
- Contest is open to students in public schools grades 9-12th in the Oxnard Union and Ventura Unified School Districts. Students in their Freshman or Sophomore year attending Oxnard College, Ventura College, California Lutheran University or CSUCI may also submit to the contest.
- Artwork must reflect the theme "Emerging".
- Artwork can be any medium (except for durational works such as video or audio media); however, submission must be in a digital format.
- Students entering the contest are limited to one submission only.
- One image file allowed for 2-dimensional works. Two image files for 3-dimensional works.
- Image files must be 300 dpi with a max file size of 10 Mb.
- Image files should be renamed before submitting to indicate artist's name and title of work.
- Artwork does not have to be framed at time of entry submission as only digital images are required for review. Original, framed artwork will be requested at a later time from the submissions selected to be exhibited. An email notification will be sent to selected artists so they can arrange framed artwork to be dropped off at CIMM on drop-off day.
- Framed work must be "ready to hang" with wire or sawtooth hanger and may be no larger than 26" x 28"; 3-dimensional work allowed up to 28"h x 16"w x 16"d. Sculpture should sit stably on a flat surface and reliefs must be wired to hang. Name and phone number must be on back or artwork.
- Submissions must be original in concept, design, execution and may not violate any copyright laws.
- Submissions must be sent digitally to [email protected] and include student's name, title of work, medium, dimensions of artwork, high school, grade, name, and contact phone number for parent or legal guardian.
- Artwork to remain on display for the duration of the exhibit.
Awards:
Winners will be announced during exhibit opening reception Friday, January 19th, 2024, 5:30-7:30pm.
Exhibit will run from January 4th - January 29th, 2024.

- One "Judges Choice" to be awarded $500
- Six "Artists of Distinction" to be awarded $250
- One "People's Choice" award to be determined.
